From West Yorkshire Spinners: Each year we process thousands of kilos of British wool; every spin leaves an excess amount of material that would usually wind up as ‘waste’. We start by collecting all this valuable fibre and add a helpful hint of nylon, also recycled from our spins. We send it to our local production partner to card, comb and convert back into tops. It arrives back at our mill for spinning, then heads out again to be dyed locally, and once dyed, it’s back to us for finishing, balling and packing. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, and all of this takes place within a 10-mile radius – something which we’re extremely proud of.
