Dorset buttons are generally made by stitching round a closed metal ring. These steel rings are strong and smooth, with a soldered join that is easy to stith over. They're perfect for making Dorset buttons, or any other craft requiring a closed ring. (Always wash Dorset buttons first before attaching to a garment or project, to ensure dye fastness).
They are made from iron. Each ring is 2.5mm across the edge.
Please note the size is measured from outside edge to outside edge. We buy them in at a specific size but they can differ by as much as 1mm from the stated size. If you need exact perfectly presise measurement please contact us first. Please also take into account that the thread will increase the size of your button.
