This workshop is designed to take you through making several styles of Dorset button. We'll start with a crosswheel, the most popular and easiest style to make, and progress through various stitching techniques. Once you have mastered the basic stitches you will be able to invent your own styles of button. We'll cover threads, rings, tools and a little history. We'll also explore different ways of using them.
You can bring up to 8 people for this workshop. Let us know how many before the day. You will need 4-5 closed rings 25mm in diameter, 20m of sock yarn or cotton perle 5 weight, a size 18 tapestry needle, and scissors. Materials are available to buy if you’d prefer.
This workshop includes a 1 hour lunch break which has not been charged for.
